MEET MARGARET HEIFNER, MS, LPC
A Place to Be Seen, Heard, and Met Right Where You Are
Compassionate therapy serving teenagers and adults in Southlake & online across Texas, specializing in anxiety, perfectionism, relationship challenges, stress, and burnout.
Maybe you’ve spent a long time trying to manage everything on your own by staying busy, staying strong, or staying quiet about what hurts. And maybe it’s not working the way it used to.
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself. You deserve support that honors your story, your resilience, and your hope for something better.
You might be feeling…
✓ Exhausted from holding it all together with little space to rest or slow down
✓ Anxious, overwhelmed, or “on edge,” even when life looks okay on the outside
✓ Tired of trying to meet everyone’s expectations while putting your own needs last
✓ Caught in cycles of perfectionism and being your harshest critic
✓ Stuck in familiar, repeating conflicts and patterns in your relationships
✓ Unsure how to make sense of your feelings, needs, or past experiences
My Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and deeply relational. I believe meaningful healing happens through safe, genuine connection in spaces where you feel seen, valued, and never alone in what you’re carrying.
I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed approaches to go beyond quick fixes and surface-level solutions. Together, we’ll explore how your experiences have shaped the way you see yourself, relate to others, and move through the world. We’ll honor how patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or avoiding emotions have helped you stay safe and reshape them with new options when they begin to hold you back.
In our sessions, we’ll build practical tools you can use in everyday life, while also getting to the root of what’s been hurting. My goal is to help you become more deeply grounded in who you are and what guides you while growing into your most authentic, whole self and all you can be. For those who desire it, I also offer space to integrate your faith into the healing process with respect and care, whether your faith feels like a source of strength, a place of struggle, or somewhere in between.
My approach is guided by these beliefs:
✓ Healing happens in trusting relationships where you feel safe to be honest and vulnerable. Building a strong relationship is my priority, and in therapy with me, you don’t have to perform, minimize, or pretend you’re okay.
✓ Your challenges make sense in the context of your story. We’ll slow down and make sense of them with compassion, even the parts that feel “messy,” “too much,” or “not enough.”
✓ Therapy is not one-size-fits-all and works best when it is collaborative and personalized to you. I see us as a team, co-creating your map forward.
✓ Lasting healing goes beyond coping alone. While we build practical coping tools, I believe addressing the deeper roots of your challenges creates meaningful change that lasts.
More About Me
Naming my practice Grounded and Growing came from how I have experienced and witnessed healing occur: the deeper we go inward, the further we can reach outward. My hope is that by exploring the roots of your challenges and helping you become more grounded in who you are and what guides you, the more you can naturally grow into all you can and were created to be.
Outside the office, you can find me in nature on a long walk, reading at a coffee shop with a vanilla latte in hand, rewatching my favorite movies and TV shows, or spending time with my husband, family, and friends.

After a few years of working in ministry, I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to be the one sitting on the couch in search of relief and healing from cycles of perfectionism, people-pleasing, and anxiety. My own journey has helped me unravel stuck cycles, learn new patterns, reconnect with my inner voice, and build confidence to navigate life’s transitions, relationships, and pressures with self-compassion and clarity. Now, it’s my goal and passion to help others do the same.

“Owning our story can be hard, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
— Brené Brown
